ALBUM REVIEW: THE BLACK KEYS "EL CAMINO"

By: J.R. Tyler

The Black Keys latest album, “El Camino,” is jam packed with music that will take you there and back - and maybe somewhere in-between. The smooth bluesy, rock invites the imagination to go off the edge and where it lands is anybody’s guess. This album appears to be a music supervisor’s dream, so don’t be surprised if you find your favorite track on some upcoming flick or some cheesy commercial – listen to tracks like “Stop Stop” and you will get my point.

I found myself completely zoned out on the track “Sister”! Parts of the song made me feel pumped up and energized like I just heard “Eye of the Tiger,” and then other parts made me feel boastfully curious about what was wrong with some girl named Brenda I invented in my head. Danger Mouse, who produced every single track on the album, really tricked this album out with adrenaline building sounds that will honestly make you escape reality and wake up to find yourself banging on something or someone. The album’s vibe is truly remarkable if you ask me, but I’d advise for you to find out for yourself. Sorry kiddos, the album is not on Spotify!
