NEWSROOM: THE KILLERS SET TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM IN 2012

By: Hunter Woods (January 4, 2012)

In an interview with Zane Lowe from BBC Radio 1, Brandon Flowers, The Killers frontman, confirmed that the group will definitely release their fourth album this year. "It's just whether it's the summertime or the wintertime," Flowers commented after being asked about the album’s release date. He admitted that it was "exciting getting everyone in the room to make some noise” again. Moreover, he mentioned that they have already finished a couple of tracks for the upcoming album and announced a new song called “Battle Born.”

"I think the consensus within the band is to take those things that we've done well and really hone in on that," Flowers declared. "We don't want to make Hot Fuss 2 or Sam's Town 2, or Day & Age 2. We'll maybe take all that stuff, the best of all of it and do what we know how to do,” he added. However, the last album the rockers produced, Day & Age, was released back in 2008 and the group made public their intentions of going hiatus in early 2010. Hence, the group’s immediate return was in question. In more news, they are rumored to also be headlining a major festival in the UK this summer. The fans of The Killers should definitely cross their fingers.
