Intellitix, the self-proclaimed leading global provider of radio frequency identification (RFID), is set to revolutionize the ticketing industry for live events by making ticket fraud, the secondary ticket business, and long lines obsolete. How is the Canadian-based company able to achieve such as feat? By introducing a technological, personalized waistband for event-goers and staff allowing access into event sites via specialized entrance portals. Furthermore, the wristband can also be used as a cashless payment method within the secured area permitting patrons to purchase victuals and merchandise through the exclusive technology.
Moreover, Intellitix is targeting the festival markets in Europe and Australia after activating over 1 million RFID wristbands in the states with much success. The company is credited for supplying this exclusive technology to such festivals as Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Coachella, Austin City Limits, Outside Lands, Electric Zoo, and Moogfest in 2011 for trial runs. “The U.S. is a market that everybody wants to get in and is very hard to get in,” Serge Grimaux, co-founder and chairman of Intellitix, told Billboard.biz. “For us it came very pleasantly easily because of the trust of the organizers and the spotless results that we deliver,” he continued.
